How to Update Your Payment Method
No Saved Cards to Update
Unlike subscription services that keep a card on file, Only eSIM doesn't store your payment methods. Every purchase is a one-time transaction. When you buy an eSIM plan, you enter your payment details at checkout, the charge is processed, and that's it. We don't save your card number for future use.
This means there's no "saved cards" section in your account settings and nothing to update or delete.
Using a Different Card for Your Next Purchase
Switching payment methods is straightforward — just enter different details the next time you buy:
- Browse plans at onlyesim.com and select the one you want
- Proceed to checkout
- In the payment section, enter your new card details or select a different payment method
- Complete your purchase
That's all there is to it. Each checkout is independent, so you can use a different card or payment method every time without changing any account settings.
Supported Payment Methods
You can pay with any of the following at checkout:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Apple Pay — available on Safari on Apple devices
- Google Pay — available on supported Android devices and Chrome
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe's servers and are never stored by Only eSIM.
What Happens to Refunds on an Old Card?
This is a common concern. If you paid with a card that has since been cancelled, expired, or replaced, here's what happens when a refund is issued:
- Refunds are always sent to the original payment method — this is how payment processors work. We can't redirect a refund to a different card.
- Your bank handles the routing — if the original card is no longer active, your bank or card issuer will automatically route the refund to your replacement card or linked bank account.
- Timing may vary — refunds to closed cards can sometimes take a few extra days while the bank sorts out the routing. Expect 5 to 10 business days after the refund is processed on our end.
If more than 10 business days have passed and you haven't received your refund, contact your bank directly. Let them know a refund was issued to your old card and ask where the funds were directed. In most cases, they can trace it immediately.
Why We Don't Store Payment Details
We made a deliberate choice not to save card information. Here's why:
- Security — fewer stored details means less risk. Your payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor.
- Simplicity — there's nothing to manage, update, or worry about in your account settings.
- No surprise charges — since we don't have a card on file, there's no possibility of accidental or unauthorized charges. You only pay when you actively make a purchase.
Only eSIM plans are one-time purchases. There are no subscriptions, no auto-renewals, and no recurring billing. You buy a plan, use it, and buy another one when you need it.
