How to Find Your eSIM QR Code After Purchase
Where to Find Your QR Code
After you purchase an eSIM plan from Only eSIM, we send your QR code and activation details by email right away — usually within seconds. Here's where to look if you can't find it.
Step 1: Check Your Email Inbox
Look for an email from Only eSIM with a subject line like "Your eSIM is ready" or "Your Only eSIM Order Confirmation." The email contains:
- A QR code image you can scan with your phone's camera
- The SM-DP+ address (a server URL) for manual installation
- An activation code (a long alphanumeric string) for manual installation
- Your plan details including the destination, data amount, and validity period
Search your inbox for "Only eSIM" or "eSIM" if you're having trouble finding it.
Step 2: Check Your Spam or Junk Folder
Email providers sometimes route automated order emails to spam, especially if it's your first purchase from us. Check:
- Gmail: Look in the Spam folder (left sidebar) and the Promotions tab
- Outlook/Hotmail: Check the Junk Email folder
- Yahoo: Check the Spam folder
- Apple Mail: Look in the Junk mailbox
If you find the email in spam, mark it as "Not Spam" so future emails from us land in your inbox.
Step 3: Log In to Your Only eSIM Account
Your QR code is always available in your account, regardless of whether the email arrived.
- Go to onlyesim.com
- Log in to your account (use the same email you used during purchase)
- Navigate to your Orders or Dashboard page
- Find the order for your eSIM plan
- Your QR code and activation details will be displayed there
This is also useful if you're traveling and need to access the QR code days or weeks after your original purchase.
Tips for Scanning Your QR Code
Once you've found your QR code, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Display it on a separate screen. You need to scan the QR code with the same phone you're installing the eSIM on, which means the QR code needs to be visible on a different screen. Open the email on a laptop, tablet, or a friend's phone.
You can print it. If you prefer, print the QR code from the email. This can be handy if you want a backup or don't have a second screen available.
Brightness matters. If the scan isn't working, try increasing the screen brightness on the device displaying the QR code. A dim screen can make it harder for your phone's camera to read the code.
Use manual entry as a backup. If scanning the QR code doesn't work for any reason, you can always enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code manually in your phone's eSIM settings. Both are included in the same email alongside the QR code.
Important: QR Codes Are Typically Single-Use
Each eSIM QR code is tied to one eSIM profile and can usually only be installed on one device. Once the profile has been downloaded to a phone, the QR code cannot be used again on a different device.
This means:
- Don't delete your eSIM profile casually. Once you remove the eSIM from your phone, it cannot be reinstalled from the same QR code. If you need your eSIM restored after deletion, contact Only eSIM support -- we can investigate options including issuing a new eSIM.
- Don't share your QR code. It's meant for your device only. Sharing it won't allow someone else to install a copy -- it will just cause an error.
- Keep the email. Even after you've installed the eSIM, hold onto the email for your records. It contains your plan details, activation codes, and order reference number in case you need support.
Still Can't Find It?
If you've checked your email (including spam), logged in to your account, and still can't locate your QR code, contact our support team. We can verify your purchase and resend the details. Make sure to include:
- The email address you used for the purchase
- Your approximate purchase date
- The destination country of your eSIM plan
We'll get back to you as quickly as possible — nobody should be stuck without data on their trip.
